Randall, whose career began in researching key technologies driving the digital revolution, including software technologies, networking and distributed
systems, today has a mission to accelerate technology companies through building their strategic global presence.
As General Partner at Verdexus (verdexus.com), a boutique dedicated to "hands-on" investment and growth
of transatlantic technology businesses, Randall has taken an active role in the development and senior management of several portfolio investments.
Currently, Randall is executive Chairman at recent VERDEXUS portfolio investment, iotumiotum.com).
In addition, from its acquisition in May 2004 to April 2006, Randall served as CEO of Verdexus portfolio company, Software Innovationwww.softinn.com), where he drove the adoption of the Coreworx enterprise software
solution purpose built for optimizing the global execution of major capital projects.
In 1984, Randall founded MKS Inc. (http://mks.com) which grew into one of Canada's first
significant enterprise software vendors. As Chairman and CEO, Randall drove the strategic development of MKS from startup into a public software company with over
375 employees and over US$45 millionin revenues.
Randall oversaw business and technology strategy, financing, business alliances and the international expansion of MKS. From 1999 to 2000, Randall drove the
"spin-out" of Vertical Sky subsidiary of MKS, focused in taking business online by providing solutions to optimize and control the management of their
software applications, web content and related processes for major enterprise customers.
Randall is also dedicated to building the global technology industry through current and past service on numerous
boards of directors, advisory boards and industry associations, including GoodContacts, Necho, Whitehill Technologies,
Nanodesign, Waterloo Maple Software, Communitech, Uniforum Association and the Dean's Advisory Council
at Laurier Business School.
Dedicated to social sector, focused on the arts, the environment and entrepreneurship, Randall is co-founder and Chair of
Elora Centre for Environmental Excellence, Board Member and Treasurer of Roseneath Theatre and past board member of
Elora Festival and Singers.
Randall holds an Honours B.Math from the University of Waterloo. Randall was the 1997 High Technology Entrepreneur of the Year.
